Michael N. Fugaro — VMD, Diplomate ACVS

Dr. Michael Fugaro opened Mountain Pointe Equine Veterinary Services, a full service equine ambulatory practice servicing New Jersey and Pennsylvania, in February of 2010. He graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Animal Science and is an alumnus from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine (Class of 1997). He completed a large animal internship at University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada and a large animal surgical residency at Purdue University. Dr. Fugaro is board certified in large animal surgery and is a member of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. He provides surgical consultations for multiple veterinarians in the surrounding area and is the on-call staff surgeon at B.W. Furlong & Associates located in Oldwick, New Jersey.

Previously, Dr. Fugaro was the resident veterinarian and a tenured Full Professor at Centenary College (now Centenary University) having affiliations in the Equine Studies and Math & Natural Sciences Departments. Dr. Fugaro has also taught adjunctively at Rutgers University in the Animal Science Department. Prior to teaching, Dr. Fugaro was one of the principal veterinarians representing the State Veterinarian for the New Jersey Department of Agriculture’s Division of Animal Health. In addition, he remains active with the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Equine Practitioners, the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association, the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association, and the New Jersey Association of Equine Practitioners.

Dr. Fugaro also has extensive lecturing experience, with presentations that have been carefully crafted over many years. Each lecture is catered to the needs and knowledge of each group. Dr. Jessica MartinDVM

Dr. Jessica Martin grew up in South Jersey riding and training western performance horses and competing locally. During her undergraduate time at Rutgers University, and through employment at the Cook Campus research farm, she decided to explore the medical side of the sport that she had come to know and love. She earned her veterinary degree from Ross University and completed her final year of clinical training at Colorado State University. Following graduation, Dr. Martin participated in a medical, surgical, and ambulatory rotating internship at Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center in Ringoes, NJ. Dr. Martin has a particular interest in lameness, endoscopy, general practice and neonatal care. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family or outdoors hiking with her dog Toby.


Lisa Krause — Office Manager/Veterinary Technician

Lisa was born and raised in Blairstown, NJ and has been involved with horses her entire life. She started riding over 20 years ago and has owned her horse, Dallas, since she was 12. Lisa graduated from Centenary College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice. She worked in a law firm specializing in Real Estate throughout high school and college. Lisa later obtained her Paralegal Certificate at Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2008. Soon after, she worked at New York Life Insurance as a Financial Services Representative in New York City helping families with insurance and retirement planning. Missing her passion for horses, Lisa joined Mountain Pointe Equine Veterinary Services in March of 2011 as a veterinary assistant. Lisa is still active in the equine community and rides as often as she can.



Ashley Duff — Administrative Assistant

Ashley Meyers joined Mountain Pointe Equine in March of 2018 as an administrative assistant. Ashley was born and raised in Bedminster, PA, where she had been involved with horses from a young age. She attended Lehigh Carbon Community College, where she worked towards her business degree. Ashley has had a multitude of equestrian experiences in barn management, general horse care, and training. Outside of work, Ashley operates a small private farm for her retired thoroughbred, Star, and two miniature driving horses, Topaz and Stoney. In her spare time, she enjoys training dogs and going on hikes with her fiancé, Patrick, and their two adorable pitbulls, Remi and Ella.
