Dr. Michael Fugaro has provided personalized equine veterinary care to this area since 2003 and opened Mountain Pointe Equine Veterinary Services in February of 2010. Our full-service equine ambulatory practice is committed to providing exceptional veterinary care for patients and clients. Dr. Fugaro, Dr. Martin, Dr. Weisberg, and Mountain Pointe Equine’s dedicated staff have experience and expertise in a wide variety of equine disciplines.

Dr. Michael Fugaro, VMD, DACVS
Dr. Fugaro is the owner and founder of Mountain Pointe Equine Veterinary Services. Previously, Dr. Fugaro was the resident veterinarian and a tenured full-professor at Centenary University. He has also taught as a visiting instructor at Rutgers University in the Animal Science Department. Dr. Fugaro has held veterinary positions with the NJ Department of Agriculture’s Division of Animal Health and the NJ Racing Commission. He has also been the President of the NJ Association of Equine Practitioners, an advisory board member for the Rutgers University Board for Equine Advancement (RUBEA), and an admissions committee member for University of Pennsylvania's School of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Fugaro completed his B.S. in Animal Science at the University of Delaware. From there he went on to the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine where he graduated in 1997. He then completed a large animal internship at the University of Guelph, in Ontario, Canada and a large animal surgical residency at Purdue University.
Dr. Fugaro maintains memberships and is active with the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, American Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Equine Practitioners, New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association, Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association, and New Jersey Association of Equine Practitioners (President, CE Liaison).
When not performing surgeries, Dr. Fugaro enjoys golfing and going to the gym. He resides in Morris County with his wife, Donna, and dog, Curtis.
DR. JESSICA MARTIN, DVM, cICVA
Dr. Martin, a South Jersey native, grew up riding and competing horses from a young age and always felt at home in a barn setting. She attended Rutgers University School of Environmental & Biological Sciences, where she graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science (Pre-Vet) in 2013. During her time at Rutgers, she was taught by Dr. Fugaro in a course entitled “Advanced Equine Health and Management.” He served as a mentor for her throughout school as she pursued her veterinary degree.
Dr. Martin attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2017 with her DVM. Following graduation, she completed an internship at Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center in Ringoes, New Jersey. Dr. Martin joined Mountain Pointe Equine as its first associate veterinarian in July of 2018. She has a particular interest in lameness, endoscopy, and neonatal care.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, practicing yoga, or hiking with her dog, Toby. She recently has returned to competitive riding in National Reined Cow Horse (NRCHA) events.

Charlotte Weisberg, VMD
Dr. Charlotte Weisberg joined Mountain Pointe in 2023 as an associate veterinarian. She provides compassionate care to all of her patients, with special interests in dentistry, emergency and critical care, and geriatrics. She earned her B.S. in Biology and environmental studies from Lehigh University and went on to receive her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where she was honored with the Large Animal Surgery Award during her clinical year. Following graduation, Dr. Weisberg completed a year-long rotating internship at Rhinebeck Equine in New York.
Originally from New Hampshire, Dr. Weisberg grew up immersed in the equestrian world and spent many years competing in eventing throughout New England. Her lifelong passion for horses—and an early determination to become a veterinarian—continues to inspire her dedication to high-quality, comprehensive care.
When she’s not out on the road seeing patients, Dr. Weisberg can often be found skiing, trail riding with her semi-retired event horse William, tending to her ever-growing plant collection, or experimenting in the kitchen. She enjoys staying connected to the equine community and brings dedication and enthusiasm to every patient she meets.

Olivia Marchello
Olivia grew up in White Township, NJ, surrounded by small animals. By the time she was a teenager, she fell in love with horses. After graduating from Centenary University in 2023, Olivia joined Mountain Pointe Equine as a veterinary assistant. She spends most of her time with her American Saddlebred, Cheddar Beans, and her cats, Stewart and Clive.

Olivia has been a part of the Mountain Pointe Equine team as a veterinary assistant since Fall 2022. She grew up in Bernardsville, NJ, where she began taking riding lessons and developing her passion for horses at a young age. Olivia graduated from Centenary University in Spring 2022 with a B.S. in Equine Studies, concentrating in Equine Science, and a Biology minor. During her time at MPE, she’s enjoyed learning technical skills and developing a relationship with the clients and patients. In her free time, Olivia enjoys doing just about anything with her dog, Bogey.

Vicki joined the team in 2022 as our Office Manager. She grew up in Long Valley, NJ, and has been around horses since she was an infant. Vicki enjoyed riding in Pony Club and competing as a junior and adult in the Hunters and Equitation. Vicki earned her undergraduate degree at Rutgers Business School and had a career in the corporate fashion industry before joining Mountain Pointe Equine. She now spends most of her time with her two children and their dog, Hunter.

Carey Masson
Carey is our Client Relations Manager and someone you are very likely to speak to when you call the office. She was born and raised in Essex County, New Jersey, and got into horses in her early teenage years after a friend brought her to "ranch camp". Carey received her Bachelor of Science in Equine Studies, with a concentration in Equine Science from Centenary College. During her junior and senior years, Carey worked with Dr. Fugaro as a veterinary assistant through Centenary’s work-study program. After graduation, she worked as Program Director for a small equine therapy program treating children with a variety of disabilities. Carey also works as the assistant manager for a small private farm. In her free time, she enjoys riding, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.

Sydney Waltenberg O’brien
Sydney is one of the voices you might hear when you call our office! She grew up on a small farm in Orange County, NY, where her love for horses began early. She started riding as soon as she could walk and spent her junior years competing in the hunters, jumpers, and equitation.
Sydney graduated from Centenary University in 2022 with a B.S. in Equine Studies, concentrating in Equine Science, and was an active member of both their IHSA and Hunter/Jumper teams. Alongside her customer service role, Sydney owns and operates her own equine bodywork and grooming business, combining her education and hands-on experience to support horses' comfort and performance. In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her dog, Monkey, and riding her horses, Molly and Squash.
